The St. Columbkill Knights of Columbus Council #16544 Parish Service Scholarship is a $2,000 scholarship awarded to a parishioner graduating from high school who matriculates to any post-secondary institution of learning. The scholarship will be based on “service to the Parish” through participation in activities that benefit Parish life and enable the student to grow as a Catholic.  (fillable form at bottom of page)

SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA

1. The student applicant must be an active member of the parish of St. Columbkill, Boyertown, PA, and be eligible to graduate from their high school.
2. The deadline date for submission of the application is May 18, 2025. All stated criteria must be met by the student applicant to be considered for the award.
3. The student applicant must be a member of the Parish who regularly attends Mass and participates in various Parish ministries and groups.
4. Consideration will be given for participation in parish-sponsored activities during grades 7 through 12. Community service that is not part of a Parish activity will not be considered.
5. Parish-sponsored activities that will be considered are altar server, usher, greeter, lector, cantor, attendance at Youth Group meetings, Vacation Bible School aide, Ignite, participation in the Holy Week Mission, Steubenville, and Summer Mission. The student applicant’s noted participation in these activities will be verified with the respective activity sponsor.
6. The student applicant will be required to write an essay of not more than two (2) typed, double-spaced pages using a 12-point font. The essay must also be submitted with the online application to the Parish Office by May 18, 2025.
